2018年2月5日，应长春光机所邀请，美国光学学会（Optical Society of America）副主席Stephen D. Fantone博士一行三人访问长春光机所交流。
长春光机所副所长张学军研究员对Stephen D. Fantone博士一行表示欢迎，并向其介绍了我所科研发展的基本概况及近十年中的重要国际合作与交流工作。长春光机所OSA/SPIE学生分会会长姚超男向来宾介绍了OSA/SPIE学生分会5年来组织的各种学生活动。 Stephen D. Fantone博士作了题目为“Optical Engineering and Problem Solving in Commercial Application”的报告，与参会人员进行交流研讨。
交流座谈后，Stephen D. Fantone博士等参观了Light期刊编辑部、中科院光学系统先进制造技术重点实验室、郭春雷中美联合光子实验室、质量检测中心；访问了长春长光辰芯光电技术有限公司、长光华大基因测序设备（长春）有限公司、长春新产业光电技术有限公司和长春希达电子技术有限公司，并就相关领域方向进行了合作探讨。

Invited by Changchun Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Dr. Stephen D. Fantone, vice president of The Optical Society, visited the Institute on February 5, 2018.
Zhang Xuejun, vice president of Changchun Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, welcomed Dr. Stephen D. Fantone and his associates. Dr. Zhang introduced the progress of research and development at the Institute and presented the important international collaborations and exchanges in the past decade. Yao Chaonan, the president of the OSA / SPIE student association of Changchun Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, spoke to the guests about various student research projects and activities organized by the OSA / SPIE student association in the past five years.
Dr. Fantone gave a presentation titled “Optical Engineering and Problem Solving in Commercial Applications” and engaged in technical discussions with the audience.
After the presentation, Dr. Fantone visited the following facilities: Editorial Department of Light Journal, CAS Key Laboratory of Advanced Manufacturing Technology of Optical System, Guo Chunlei China-US collaborated Photonics Laboratory and Metrology Center. Dr. Fantone also visited Changchun Changguang Chenxin Optoelectronic Technology Co. ltd, Changguang Huada Gene Sequencing Equipment (Changchun) Co., Ltd., Changchun New Industry Optoelectronic Technology Co., Ltd. and Changchun Xida Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. During his visit, Dr. Fantone discussed the possibilities of collaboration between American and Chinese research teams.
