Beyond the exhibition floor, catch David Biss, Sr. Optical Engineering Manager at Optikos, as he presents Paper 14210-5: “Mounted lens stress: hidden impacts on optical performance in high-precision systems.”

Mechanical stress from lens mounting can silently degrade wavefront quality, alignment, and overall imaging performance, particularly in high-performance lens modules and aerial imaging. Drawing on real-world examples, David will walk through how these stresses propagate through a system, practical diagnostic methods to catch them, and engineering best practices to minimize stress-related aberrations in demanding optical applications.
