VLS-100 Variable Luminance Source

The VLS-100 Variable Luminance Source is a controllable source of uniform, visible illumination for testing cameras, image intensifiers, and visible to near-infrared night vision devices. It is used with I-SITE™ software or as a standalone, computer-controlled device.
The Variable Luminance Source features a 50 mm diameter source aperture with <2% luminance non-uniformity. The source brightness is continuously adjustable over a dynamic range of 106 that is computer controlled to within 3% of its set value. A range of filters and test targets is available to support a variety of performance measurements.
Features
- Automated variable attenuator and aperture wheel with high resolution stepper motors.
- Integrated photometer provides real-time monitoring of exit port luminance, allowing closed-loop control.
- Filter drawer allows for multiple 50 x 50mm filters to adjust color temperature and spectral output.
- Digitally controlled, laboratory grade power supply ensures constant lamp output and stable color temperature.
- Dual integrating sphere design ensures exceptional illumination uniformity.
- NIST traceable color temperature.
- Custom targets available for objective or subjective metrology testing, boresight measurements, and contrast measurements.
