| Software Engineer |
We are an established engineering company with a world-class offering of optical metrology products looking for a skilled software engineer to contribute towards the maintenance and development of application code. This is a serious engineering position – not a fuzzy web-development opportunity! The person we are looking for will have strengths in programming applications that interface with peripheral hardware such as cameras, frame-grabbers, motion control systems etc, and a proven record writing creative bulletproof code. Mathematical aptitude (do you know what a fast Fourier transform is?) and experience with optics or image processing is a big plus. This position reports to a senior optical engineer, but requires a high degree of self-motivation as well as the ability to work well in multidisciplinary teams. Requirements:
- Minimum of two-years software development experience on Windows platforms using Microsoft Visual C++ and Visual Basic.
- Strong experience in instrumentation development.
- Experience in programming computer device interfaces such as general I/O, serial communications, USB, FireWire etc.
- Bachelor or higher degree in computer science or a relevant engineering or science degree.
- Experience or knowledge of optics, photonics, or image processing is preferred.
- Must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
- Good verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities:
- General maintain, support, and improvement of existing product application code.
- Writing technical documentation such as user manuals for existing software products.
- Provide technical support to customers and projects on software related issues.
- Participate in software development projects.

| Optical Engineer |
| We presently have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated optical engineer with a diverse skill set to play an active role in supporting our wide range of standard products and services. The successful candidate will be an innovator who recognizes that optical engineering encompasses many different disciplines, and will therefore have developed a strong skill set that includes optical system design, lens design, optomechanical design, electronics design, and some ability to program in either VisualC++ or Visual Basic. This person will also have strong communication skills and will be able to work both independently and as a member or leader of a project team. A postgraduate degree in Optical Engineering or Physics is preferred, although candidates with a bachelors degree in Optical Engineering who have a proven track record of at least five years of innovative work will be considered. Experience in MTF measurement and the ability to use ZEMAX or ACCOS are strong recommendations.
