Mechanical Engineer
Opportunity:
In this fast-paced position you will be involved in diverse optical engineering programs within the consumer, medical, industrial, and aerospace markets. We are looking for a team player with a keen eye for detail, design savvy, enthusiasm and proven problem solving abilities. This is a hard core engineering job. You will be part of a team that designs, builds, and ships state-of-the-art optically based instrumentation.
You must possess a BSME, or equivalent, including 5-10+ years design experience. Our output extends from complex mechanical assemblies to mass-produced injection molded parts. The position presents an opportunity to define your own role within many exciting consulting projects and also ongoing support of our line of optical metrology products.
Required skills:
- Hands-on skills and abilities
- Strong analytical skills
- Thorough knowledge of SolidWorks and finite element modelling
- Experience working with machine shops
- Ability to create detailed drawings with GD&T
- Enthusiastic self-starter
- Excellent communication abilities
Desired skills:
- Minimum of five years using Solid Works
- Experience designing and prototyping precision opto-mechanical assemblies
- Aerospace components/system development experience is a plus
- PDMWorks experience is a plus
