Field Service Engineer

Optikos Corporation is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to install, upgrade and service our Optical Metrology product line.

Our team continues to improve existing product lines and develop new products that Optikos manufactures and installs around the globe.
Job Functions:
Optikos considers Field service development a key element of the Optikos business growth strategy. You will work with customers representing the installed-base of Optikos products and manage our on-call service. The installed-base of Optikos products is global, requiring extensive world-wide travel. When not traveling, the Field Service Engineer will complement the in-house Optikos engineering team, in particular the activities of the Optical Measurement Services business.
- Responsible for performance of service and maintenance agreements between Optikos and its customers.
- Determine service and maintenance scope and schedule for our equipment, including refurbishment or replacement of parts, subsystems and software.
- Serve as the Optikos face-to-the-customer while preparing, performing and following-up installation, service and maintenance events.
- Act as the point-of-contact for service and maintenance contracts with customers and for fulfilling on-call service requests.
- Schedule regular and requested service and maintenance calls; determine optimum travel itineraries; determine when and if additional in-house support is required.
- Determine, in real-time, the best avenue for meeting customer requirements.
Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree (or greater) in engineering or sciences (electrical/optical engineering or equivalent experience preferred).
- Five + years’ experience in field service, design, manufacture and/or operation of precision instrumentation or instrumentation of similar complexity to Optikos products.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to quickly grasp and exploit technical concepts.
- Skill to prioritize and optimally work in a fast paced, challenging environment with dead-lines
- Candidate must be willing/able to travel extensively.
